Some Pig

Tracey showed her pigs in the Lincoln County Fair yesterday. Actually, one of her pigs (Jasper)didn't make weight by 13 pounds because he had been sick a few weeks ago so she just showed one pig.

This was her first time showing and she did a great job. The judge also complimented her on her showmanship. Her pig (Emmett) got 3rd place in her class so Tracey was happy.

Congratulations Tracey! We are proud of you!!

***p.s. did anyone catch the Twilight references????

Lyna the Lizard

Every night when we say prayers, Kylee prays for her pet lizards (imaginary lizards). She asks God to feed them for her and take of them. I asked her once where her lizards lived and she told me that her lizards live at her friends' house (again, imaginary friends). Okay. So we pray for her lizards.
Well today she got a real live lizard. I went to clean out the toys in the girls' bathtub and found a lizard in the tub. (Yes, I am kind of embarassed to admit that I found a lizard in my house.) How it got there and how long it'd been there, I have no idea. We've been gone for the last 5 days.
So of course we caught the lizard and Kylee held her and watched her for quite a while and named her Lyna. I finally convinced her that Lyna would be much happier living in the bushes instead of in my ice tea pitcher. So Kylee finally decided to let Lyna go home. With much pomp and circumstance, Lyna crawled out of the pitcher and ran home into the bushes.

Sea World

Our vacation was great. Instead of inundating you with a single blog of a billion pictures, I'll spread it out over several blogs. That way I'll have plenty of blog material for a few days.
The first day we went to Sea World. We had such a great time. We caught most of the shows and stayed to see Shamu Rocks! and the fireworks afterward. I loved, loved Sea World.
Coming out of the Shark Encounter exhibit.
Gangsta' Krysten

Peek-a-boo!

Enjoying churros before the Dolphin show.
Kylee and a snow bear (we've read "The Three Snow Bears" too much, polar bears are now snow bears.)

The girls and Shamu.
Checking out the Shamu Believe show.
Believe it or not, we ran into someone from Silver City right after the show!

Dora the Explorer Live!

It was sooooooooooooooooo much fun going to see Dora Live. The girls absolutely loved it! I enjoyed it too, I even sang along to all the songs. It was just like one of her TV episodes, where the audience responds to questions, they solve problems along the way, and try and avoid Swiper.

Yesterday the girls and I drove up to the Cliff Dwellings. It was a good trip, we packed a lunch and ate before we hit the trail. Hiking with two little ones...now that's an adventure. Luckily the trail is an easy trail. Kylee walked the whole way and Krysten walked a good portion of it. She wanted to be carried on the way back down. Tracey was our official photographer of the trip. If you want to see more photos, I uploaded a bunch more on Facebook.
Off we go!My beautiful girls- Tracey, Krysten, and Kylee!!!

A view of some of the Cliff Dwellings. I could type up a windy description about who was here and when, but frankly, I don't feel like it. Sorry.

Look at us! We're gonna climb through this doorway, it's just our size.

Taking a break! We've walked a long ways and we deserve it. Round trip is about a mile, but it's climbing up a canyon, and then back down again. Pretty easy for bigger kids and adults, but hard work for us.

After our hike we drove down to the river and played in the water for awhile to cool off.

"Don't touch me!"

Park Hoppers

Every day after I pick up the girls from the Montessori School, we go to the park for the free lunches. There are several parks to choose from: last week we went to the bike park (Tracey's nickname for it), and this week we have been going to Penny Park. The girls and I have really enjoyed spending the time at the park. Plus, it gets them really tired and they take nice long naps.
This evening we went to the park by Fort Bayard. The girls call it the helicopter park because of the helicopter on a stick nearby. We enjoy going to this park because it's much closer than the others and they've fixed it up really nice.
