Woods Video

Okay, I know I already blogged tonight about our trip to the forest, but I think I finally figured out how to use onetruemedia.com. So I'm posting again tonight. Hey, I didn't stay up this late waiting for all the pictures to upload for naught.

A Day in the Woods

Today we went for a drive and a picnic in the woods. We drove out to Sheep Corral (in case anyone reading this knows where I'm talking about) and went for a walk, picnicked and picked flowers. Isn't she adorable. And yes, look at that red hair!
Look Mama!

I absolutely love this picture. I think it's the best one I've ever taken of her.

When we first drove up, this deer wasn't too worried.
Then she took off and somehow I managed to catch her mid-leap. How cool is that?

In case you ever wonder...

Anyone ever wonder what life is like with my very active children? Even if you hadn't wondered, I decided to write down events over the course of an entire day. This is how my day went yesterday. Keep in mind, this was a pretty calm day for us

Kylee crawls in bed with us and immediately falls back to sleep.

Aaron gets up for work.

Kylee wakes us. I refuse to.

I turn on Dora to keep her entertained while I catch some more sleep.

I finally drag myself out of bed and fix Kylee breakfast.

Start cleaning kitchen.

Krysten wakes up.

Fix her breakfast- yogurt and banana.

Clean table again becuz Krysten used the yogurt as fingerpaint.

Sit and eat my breakfast. Raisin Bran- but more bran than becuz Krysten crawls on my lap picks out all my raisins.

I try and watch Regis and Kelly.

Play cards on the bed with Krysten. Where's Kylee?

Discover that Kylee has wrapped herself up in scotch tape.

Kylee tackles Krysten, then tries to console her.

Still trying to watch Regis and Kelly.

Paint 20 toes and 20 fingernails various colors of green, pink, and gold.

Everyone brushes teeth. (Notice I haven't showered or gotten dressed)

Kids are still wearing what they wore yesterday cuz we got home late and they slept in their clothes.

Both girls climb up on my bathroom counter. Discover that Kylee is cleaning the mirror w/ Aaron's toothbrush.

Distract them with going swimming in the front yard. Happiness all around. Except the cat. Kylee threw her in the pool and the cat wasn't too happy.

I rake the yard while they play in the pool.

Grama Lucy calls. She's coming through town and wants to meet for lunch.

Now we all have to get dressed. Although considering the people at Mickey D's, I wouldn't've been the only one wearing pajamas.

Lunch at McDonald's. Not a bad experience, could've been worse.

Get home and lay the girls down for their naps.

Put Krysten back in bed.

Put Krysten back in bed.

Put Krysten back in bed.

An hour later she still hasn't fallen asleep so I give up.

When the girls wake up they go swimming again. This time sans clothing. While they play I water the yard. This creates some mud.

My girls are such opportunists! Much happiness all around playing naked in the mud.

Daddy's home!

Cook dinner and sit down to eat it. Kylee refuses to eat her food.

Screaming. Crying. Screaming. Crying.

Oh yes, family dinners are a pleasant experience!

Jammies, books, and bedtime stories.

Goodnight.

Graffiti

It's the end of the school year and for reasons unbeknownst to me, the students love to sign eachother's clothes as a farewell.

My daughter ended the day looking much like the railcars that race through town (literally, probably 100 yards from our school) each day.

How am I supposed to teach my other children that it's NOT okay to write on yourself with marker when their big sister comes home looking like this?????
Sheesh.

Smokey Bear

Smokey Bear came to one of the schools where I teach so I thought it would be a great opportunity for my kids to meet Smokey.

They talked about it for days and were so excited when the day finally arrived.

However, once they actually saw Smokey in person...not so exciting. Kylee barely touched him (despite wanting to give him a hug and kiss to make his paws feel better. They were burned in the fire, if you remember) and Krysten screamed when I brought her near him.

Congratulations Tracey

Tonight was awards night at Tracey's school. She received two awards tonight.

This award is the President's Award for Academic Achievement. Along with this she received a letter from the White House congratulating her on her academic achievement and it was signed by the President.
This award is for being on the Honor Roll at least 3 out of 4 times.
Congratulations Tracey!!! You have worked very hard this year and it has paid off. I am very proud of you.

My house has been taken over by aliens...er, I mean preteen girls!

Tonight is Tracey's slumber party for her birthday. She invited 4 other 12 year olds to spend the night. Let me repeat, she invited 4 other 12 year olds to spend the night. You read right folks...there are currently 5, yes 5, preteen girls playing Guitar Hero in my living room as I type.

I took them bowling (Aaron escaped, taking Kylee with him, to go play poker) and then returned to begin tonight's Guitar Hero competition.

Synchronized Sliding

Recently we bought a new bed. (It is absolutely fabulous, by the way). We haven't had time to take the old bed to storage, so for now it is in our living room.

My children have turned it into something more than just a plain ole bed.

It started out very simple...

but oh no, that was not enough for Kylee...

Lance Armstrong

Here's Lance...

Here's Lance's bus...
My obsession with Lance Armstrong comes to a close...
Here's a video of the Mens Pro 1 group as they make the corner during the downtown criterium. It's one of the coolest spots in the race.

Swine Flu

I know many of you have been anxiously waiting to see my pictures of Lance Armstrong and I'll post them soon. I got a little distracted last night when we rented a movie that turned out to be 3 hours long. It was a good movie, but left me with no time to blog. (the movie was Australia, by the way)

My reason for this post is:

I got a phone call this afternoon telling me that Lordsburg schools were cancelled all week due to the Swine Flu. According to rumor, there is one confirmed case (a student) and three suspected. I'm sure people are absolutely FLIPPING OUT because of this. Great, of all the places it could hit, and it's gotta be a town of 3000 people. So much for my 'it'll never happen to me attitude'.

Normally I would be happy about there being no school for a week...but not this close to the end of the year. We will probably have to make that week up. Grrr...that means going back AFTER Memorial Day.

Totally un-fun.

Guess I will have plenty of time to blog my Lance pictures.

And clean my house. Yep, totally un-fun.
